Willem Jeffrey Vanpelt, 19, and an unnamed 17-year-old were arrested on a warrant on Monday, Dec. 30, by Wilton Police following an investigation started by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.
The two were connected after Customs officers stapped the shipment when it arrived in the country and they found the forged ID's addressed to Vanpelt, Kluk said.
Vanpelt was charged with 12 counts of conspiracy and 12 counts of forgery.
He was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Jan. 9.
The 17-year-old, also from Wilton, was charged with six counts of forgery and six counts of conspiracy to commit forgery. He is scheduled to appear in juvenile court later this month, police said.
Kluk said possession of a forged driver's license is a felony and can lead to jail time and the suspension of driving privileges.
